The cake

It appears that I have a “signature cake”… or is it Kari that has one? See any similarities between the following birthday cakes?

I made it for the first time for her 4th birthday. She said: “Mommy I want a rainbow cake!” After making my mind jump through a few hoops this is what I came up with:

Then she was going to celebrate in class and I had to make the same one:

And then her 5th birthday rolled around and look what she ordered for the family party:

Shockingly a slight twist was allowed for her 5th birthday party with friends:

And now her 6th birthday party cake:

I dub this one the “Flower Power Cake”, lol. The traditional rainbow cake with a flowery twist.

I suspect she’s like her mother… she loves traditions 🙂

If she asks for it again on her 7th birthday I will make it. As much as I twitch at the mere thought of how boring it is to place all those little colored chocolates on the cake and think “again????”, I also think “Allrightythen!” because it’s a super easy cake to make, and they come out pretty cute. The bonus? People actually EAT this cake too 🙂
